This book covers the activities in the photographic world of Japan during the period from January 1 through December 31, 2010.

Photography is the art that covers everything in the world. The editor of this book is proud to state that this book is the only medium in Japan that covers everything which has taken place in this art.

There have been just so many prizes,　exhibitions, albums and books in the year 2010, despite stagnant economy.　This vibrant situation will be understood by the readers by a glance at “The Works by Prize Winners at Annual Gallery in 2010” in the opening pages of this book, which will convey the energetic activities of Japanese photographers with full  variety of their expression.

This annual was first published in 2006, so this is the 6th volume, with 352 pages or 16 pages more over the previous year.  There are 96 pages in color, which are also 16 pages more than the previous issue.  “Interviews with People in Topic in 2010” are now 54 pages, instead of 36 pages in the previous issue, featuring 26 preeminent people in the photographic world today. In the column of “Domestic News”, a special report was presented on the “Photography Conservation Centre” promoted by JPA or Japan Professional Society.  As the special feature, detailed reports were presented on “Rwandan Children Born of Rape” album and exhibition, as well as “The Sky in my Hands---Ikko Narahara 1954--2004”, an exhibition at Shimane Prefectural Museum.  These account for the increment in the number of pages in this volume.
